Firion is an old childhood friend of Maria, Gus and Leon. He was adopted by Leon and Maria's parents, and they've lived in Fynn ever since. However, on one fateful day, the Kingdom Of Fynn was attacked by Soldiers. Firion takes it upon himself to lead Maria and Gus around the world, in order to find Maria's missing brother, Leon. Firion is the protagonist, and you take his place in Final Fantasy II.

Maria is Leon and Firion's sister. As kids they lives in the kingdom of Fynn, but it was attacked by the emperor of Palamecia and they were forced to leave. Maria is worried about Leon when he goes missing, so she follows Gus and Firion. Maria will usually stay back in battles, and is good with bows.

Leon is the brother of Maria. After Fynn was attacked, he was no-where to be found. The other three take it upon themselves to find their friend, who they find out was controlled by evil, and became The Dark Knight - the very enemy that they have to defeat.

Gus is a childhood friend of Maria, Firion on Leon. He is very strong, and has the usefull ability to speak to animals. Gus helps the Rebels along with Maria and Firion on their quest to find Leon. Gus' max HP increases quite quickly, and he is a good character to keep in the front row.
