Final Fantasy I Class guide

Class Guide

Ninja's are the quickest character's in FF1. They can wield Sword's and knives, but can't use shields. The Ninja is a character that isn't good by itself, put him in with a Warrior or a Red Mage (i find he work's best in parties wiht them). The Thief gain's the title 'Ninja' when you do the class up side quest, and can than learn up to level 4 Black Magic.

Warrior/ Knight:

The Warrior is a very usefull character that you pretty much beat the game with (a party of 4). However, it is not suggested that you try to do this until yuo ahve seen the full game through, and know how to use a Warrior from that. The Warrior is a very well balanced character, and can wield sword's and knive's. He may also be equipped with a shield. The Warrior gain's the title 'Knight' upon finishing the class up side quest, and can than learn up to level 3 white magic.

White Mage/ White Wizard:

The White Mage is a very usefull character. He/she can use up to level 6 white magic spell's (until class up). He/she has very weak strength and defense, however, he/she makes up for this in his/her ability to use supportive spells to keep the party alive and well. He/she can wield a staff, knife, or club, and can use a cape for Defense. Upon getting a clas sup he/she can use all level white magi spells.

Black mage/ Black Wizard:

The Black mage is very much like the white mage, however, the Black Mage excel's in Black Magic. He can use up to level 6 black magic until his status upgrade, where he can than use all level black magic spell's. The Black Mage is uterely useless by himself, and is very good with a white mage or warrior.

Red Mage/ Red Wizard:

The Red Mage is one of the best character's in the game. However, he get's very useless around the time you get the 3rd crystal. He can use very good attacks, both physical and magic, and has a high defense. He can however, only use up to level 5 (or 6, depending on which version you have) black and white magic. He also doesn't gain as much stat's from his level up's. He gain's more strength and defense during his class up.

Monk/ Master:

the Monk is by far, the most useless character in Final Fantasy. He has a huge amount of physical power, but not until he is level 10, and cannot use any magic. He has horirble defense, and gain's nothing fomr a class up. Stay away from him.
